Nature Morte

'Nature Morte' is the inspiration of AnikalenaSkarström's summer 09 collection. A theme expressing the timeless elegance of Nature transposed in contemporary lifestyles. The collection draws the parallel between Women and trees. Both draw their strength from invisible roots and spread it in the visible magnificence of their span. Both are able to nurture themselves from the same soil over and over, yet would spread their roots in other directions when necessary. Both project a gracefully maturing beauty while their allure changes greatly over seasons. The pulchritude of trees or women has been expressed by poets since the ages, yet is still deeply felt in everybody's hearts today. Following this theme, the Summer 09 Collection adds greens, yellows and reds using figurative braches and crosses to the signature silver, black and white. Consistently with both the designer's favorites and the 'Nature Morte' theme, the designs are both rigid structures and fluid movements, full of exquisite details. Core fabrics of the Collection are leather, cotton, silk and linen.
